Custom Makeup Vanity Tables
A made-to-order vanity table gives you a workplace in the bedroom or dressing room built around your own habits - the right surface height, organised cosmetic storage and lighting that does not distort colour. At the BauRaum workshop the full cycle runs from measuring to installation under one roof.
Why an ordinary table does not work
A vanity table differs from an ordinary desk in three details: surface height, distance to the mirror and storage logic. A standard table is often too high, which tires the arms and forces an awkward posture.
In a bespoke project we set the surface height against your height and the type of stool or chair. We also calculate the free knee space so you can sit at the table properly.
The third detail is storage. Cosmetics come in wildly different sizes and cannot be organised in one large drawer. So we plan drawers of different depths: shallow ones for brushes and pencils, deep ones for bottles, and a sectioned insert for shadows and palettes.
Mirror and lighting - the detail that matters most
How useful a vanity table is depends directly on its lighting. If light comes only from the ceiling, shadows fall on the face and makeup goes on unevenly.
Our projects use integrated LED lighting placed along the contour of the mirror or on both sides of it, so the face is lit evenly from the front. The power routing is planned at the design stage so the cable runs inside the structure and the socket comes out where you can reach it.
The mirror can be wall-hung, part of the table structure, or built into an upper cabinet. We choose between them on the 3D visualisation, where you can see the mirror's size and proportion in the real space.
Where the vanity table goes
Most often it is planned in the bedroom near a window, since daylight is the best light for makeup. Our portfolio includes a grey vanity table designed on exactly this logic.
The second common option is a dressing room or a place within a wardrobe system: the table sits in line with the wardrobe, its surface between the hanging rail and a drawer block. This solution works especially well when a separate room cannot be given over to it.
In small apartments we plan a combined version where the same surface also serves as a desk. In that case the cosmetic drawers stay a separate section so the two functions do not get in each other's way.
Materials, hardware and care
A vanity surface is in daily contact with cosmetic products, so we choose materials that clean easily: laminated MDF or laminate board (DSP) with durable edge treatment. Where a premium character is wanted we offer natural wood veneer.
Drawers run on Blum and GTV telescopic runners with soft-close - the drawer pulls out fully and closes quietly. That matters particularly for drawers holding glass bottles.
On request we add a sectioned insert for organising cosmetics and a lockable drawer. Every piece carries a written five-year warranty covering both the structure and the hardware.
Process, lead time and price
1. Free consultation and measuring - we measure the space, check the socket and window positions and determine the comfortable height.
2. Free 3D visualisation - you see the table with its mirror, lighting and colour; production starts only after approval.
3. Production in our workshop - a free-standing vanity table normally takes 30-40 working days; as part of a wardrobe system the lead time extends to 40-47 working days.
4. Delivery and installation - our own crew assembles the piece on site and connects the lighting.
The price depends on dimensions, materials, mirror and lighting type and the number of drawers. Payment is 50% up front and 50% on installation, with interest-free instalments on Bank of Georgia and TBC Bank cards.
