A bespoke reception desk solves two problems at once: it forms the first visual impression of your company and gives the person behind it a comfortable place to work all day. At the BauRaum workshop the full cycle happens in house - measuring, 3D visualisation, production and installation by our own crew in Tbilisi and across Georgia.
The reception desk as a first impression
The reception desk is the first object a visitor sees. Its shape, colour and material say more about a company than a logo hung on the wall behind it.
So we start the design from brand logic: your corporate colours, the proportions of your logo, and how the space is lit through the day. The front panel can carry your logo as a branded element, with integrated LED lighting along the contour to bring it out in the evening.
The shape follows the space: a straight desk for a narrow lobby, an L-shape for two work positions, or a curved form where the room allows it.
Where our reception desks are installed
Hotel and apartment receptions run around the clock under heavy use; here the priorities are surface durability and organised document storage.
A clinic or medical centre reception sets stricter requirements: easy to clean, closed sections for documentation and a counter height that is comfortable for patients. Our portfolio includes a consultation corner for a plastic surgery clinic.
Office receptions often merge into a waiting area, while salon and spa desks double as a display unit, so we plan open product shelving into them. All of them use the same carcass technology as our custom office furniture.
Ergonomics - a desk people work at all day
A reception desk is planned on two levels: a higher front panel facing the visitor and a lower work surface for the staff member. That split hides equipment and screens while letting the person work comfortably.
On the inside we plan drawers, dedicated sections for computer and printer, cable management channels and socket outlets. Cable planning is the detail most often ignored in ready-made desks.
Where needed we add a lowered section for wheelchair users and a lockable section for valuables. All of these ergonomic details are agreed at the 3D visualisation stage.
Materials and surfaces
Carcasses are built from high-density laminate board (DSP), with laminated, painted or milled MDF for the fronts - the last of these allowing a textured relief on the front panel.
Where a premium character is wanted we use natural wood veneer: oak, walnut or hornbeam. The work surface can be quartz or engineered stone, which is particularly worthwhile for high-traffic receptions.
Our hardware comes from Blum and GTV: soft-close mechanisms and telescopic drawer runners. Integrated LED lighting can be used both to highlight the logo and to light the work surface locally.
Process, lead time and price factors
1. Free consultation and measuring - we measure the space and check the wiring and the visitor's line of movement.
2. Free 3D visualisation - you see the desk with your logo, colours and lighting; production starts only after approval.
3. Production in our workshop - a standard order takes 30-40 working days; a complex form with a stone top takes 40-47 working days.
4. Delivery and installation - our own crew assembles the structure on site and connects the lighting.
The price depends on dimensions, shape, materials, surface type and the complexity of the branding. We work with companies under a written contract, with payment of 50% up front and 50% on completion.

Yes. The logo can be applied to the front panel as a branded element, highlighted with LED lighting if you wish. We need a vector file of your logo and your corporate colour codes - our designer handles the rest during the design stage.
