Custom furniture does not end with production - what matters just as much is the terms you work under and who is answerable if something goes wrong. This page brings together all of BauRaum's terms: the five-year written warranty, the payment scheme, lead times, delivery, installation and what to do in a warranty case.
The five-year warranty - what it covers
Every carcass piece carries a written five-year warranty set out in your contract. It covers two things at once: the structure - carcass, edge treatment, joints and geometry - and the hardware: hinges, telescopic runners, lift mechanisms and soft-close systems.
In a warranty case the call-out, diagnosis and repair are free of charge. If a part has to be replaced, it is replaced with hardware of the same class.
The warranty does not cover mechanical damage, the results of incorrect use, deformation caused by standing water or intervention by a third party. These conditions are written into the contract so that both sides are clear from the very start.
What is not a defect
One clarification that resolves most misunderstandings: minor adjustment of a door or drawer in the first period is normal, particularly in new buildings where the structure settles during the first years. It is not a defect - hinges adjust in three planes and it is easily corrected.
The second nuance concerns natural materials. Natural wood veneer shifts tone slightly under sunlight, and a difference in grain between two fronts of the same species is natural - a property of the material rather than a fault.
If anything gives you doubt during the warranty period, simply call us. Diagnosis is free, and if the problem falls within the warranty we put it right at our own cost.
Payment and instalments
The payment scheme has two stages: 50% up front against the approved 3D project and the agreed price, and the remaining 50% on completion of the installation, once the furniture is assembled and accepted on site.
Interest-free instalments are available on Bank of Georgia and TBC Bank cards, which lets you spread a one-off cost across several months.
With companies we work under a written contract that fixes the price, the stages, the lead time and the warranty terms. Consultation, on-site measuring and 3D visualisation are free and commit you to nothing.
Lead times and delivery
A standard order takes 30-40 working days, a complex project 40-47 working days. The clock starts on the day you approve the 3D visualisation, since that is when the project moves into production. The exact date is fixed in the contract.
Delivery and installation are carried out by our own crew - in Tbilisi and across Georgia, including Batumi, Kutaisi and Rustavi. During installation the furniture is assembled on site, the hardware is fitted and every door is adjusted in three planes.
When installation is finished we check every door and drawer together with you. That is the point of handover, and the warranty period starts from it.
How working together unfolds
1. Contact - you call or fill in the form; we clarify what type of furniture is involved and where.
2. Free on-site measuring - our specialist measures the space and checks the utilities. If you have a designer's drawing we accept any format: DWG, PDF, a sketch or a photo.
3. Free 3D visualisation and estimate - you see the project and the exact price. Changes at this stage are free.
4. Contract and 50% deposit - price, lead time and warranty are fixed.
5. Production, delivery and installation - by our own crew.
6. Handover and the remaining 50% - the five-year warranty period begins.
